Love this dentist office! Doctor Evans is very efficient and quick. They are very attentive and make sure you're comfortable. Personally, I love when they explain whats going on when using dental lingo. Also, I was called into work last minute and they were very nice about my last minute cancellation.- Cheyenne M. / Google / Nov 7, 2017
Dentures in El Cajon, CA
Dentures will benefit your physical appearance and smile especially for those who have damaged or missing teeth. Traditionally there are two types of dentures partial or complete. If you’re missing all or most of your teeth, you’ll wear a complete denture. Partial dentures fill in the gaps left by missing teeth for relief during chewing, speaking, and smiling. Filling in the gaps prevents teeth from shifting and offers necessary support to your facial structure. Partial dentures restore numerous teeth in an arch, while complete dentures are used to replace all teeth in an arch.
A complete denture can be either “immediate” or “conventional.” Conventional dentures are specially designed to provide long-term relief. First, a patient’s teeth are all removed and then the gums need roughly four to six weeks to heal. Once healed, a conventional denture is created based on the individual’s unique facial structure. During the healing process, a patient can use an immediate denture as temporary assistance. Immediate dentures are not a long-term solution, but serve as a full set of teeth for the patient whilst waiting for their conventional set.
Although resilient and made to last for several years, dentures may need adjustments over time. Adjustments or alignments are favorable when changes in gum tissue occur. Based on the patient’s needs, dentures can be adjusted, remade, or repaired.
Dentures enhance your smile and facial tissue, which can also enhance your confidence!
If you have trouble talking or chewing, dentures can give support.
Duration of the Process
Dentures require multiple appointments over several weeks. After the procedure is complete, regular checkup visits are necessary to ensure the quality, effectiveness, and success of the device as well as your oral health.
